How to Initiate Conversations & Lead Policy Solutions Around Water Sustainability in your Community

The 2023 APATX Leadership Academy Cohort is an amazing group of individuals who are dedicated to developing the next generation of changemakers who will transform Texas for the better! In the age of climate change, water policy has come center stage, and our incredible cohort is ready to take on the challenge. Across the state, communities face new challenges related to water availability, stormwater mitigation, and floodplain management, but our cohort is up to the task! Each geographic region in Texas has unique environments that need to be addressed for a more sustainable world, and our amazing cohort is ready to tackle them head-on. The inaugural APATX Leadership Academy Cohort is going to address water sustainability issues as they relate to the diverse landscapes, ecosystems, and communities across Texas, and we couldn't be more excited! Our cohortwill identify successful policy solutions and case studies that best suit each region in Texas, and we're going to do it with enthusiasm and passion! We are also discussing strategies on how planners can effectively communicate with targeted demographics within diverse communities, because we know that communication is key! In all, the session is going to provide planners with the tools they need to lead water sustainability efforts in their own communities, and we cannot wait to get started!
