"Christi Pruitt has been the Director of Parks & Recreation in Haltom City since November 2016. Prior to that, she served Haltom City as the Recreation Supervisor for 12 years. During her tenure in Haltom, Christi re-opened the Recreation Center after renovations, adding top-of-the-line fitness equipment, new classes, community events, and reviving old classes and sports programs. She has been a part of two master plan processes and has seen two large grant projects with Texas Parks and Wildlife to completion with a third multi-million dollar one in the works. She enjoys the challenge of seeking funding for large projects, both through grants and City budgets and bonds. She utilizes the City’s Parks & Open Space master plan consistently through the budget process, as a replacement guide, and to stay on top of desired projects and needs of the community.
Christi is currently serving a second term on the Board of Directors for Texas Recreation and Parks Society (TRAPS). She is passionate about equitable education and networking opportunities for front-line Parks employees. She has also served on the planning committee for the TRAPS North Region conference for the last 10 years.
