Overview

Opportunities for statewide trail connectivity and development, explanation on the benefits and positive impact of trails on people, the economy, and the environment, and knowledge of existing regional trail efforts.

This project is the first step towards looking at trail connectivity across Texas. A collaborative effort between Halff, TPWD, TxDOT, and THC this study examines how trail development benefits all Texans, what efforts for coordinated trail efforts could look like, and where efforts have already started. This study proposes eight strategies to move forward and proposes different ways that statewide trails could be managed.
