Craig Farmer, FAICP , is president of the Municipal Planning Services, LLC in Texas. He has consulting experience with the firms of Freese and Nichol’s and Dunkin, Sefko and Associates. His public sector experience was managing Planning, Public Works, Engineering, Storm Water, Building Inspection and Transportation Departments as a Deputy City Manager or Department Head in the cities of Lubbock, Weatherford, Carrollton, Grand Prairie and McAllen. He is a Fellow in the College of the American Institute of Certified Planners and has served on the National Board of Directors of the American Planning Association (APA), the Board of Directors of the Texas Municipal League and as president of the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association. He has been in charge of 15 planning projects that have won Texas Planning awards including comprehensive plans, unified development codes, zoning and subdivision ordinances, redevelopment plans utilizing tax increment financing including public improvement districts and a national award for streamlining zoning and building regulations. His extensive Economic Development Experience includes 7 TIRZ districts, 6 PIDs, and significant involvement in Lone Star Park, the Verizon Performing Arts Theatre in Grand Prairie, Starplex, and a $500 million redevelopment project next to Texas Tech University.
