APATX and ASLATX Jointly Oppose HB2439
The American Society of Landscape Architects - Texas Chapter, and the American Planning Association - Texas Chapter have partnered together to jointly submitted a letter to urge Governor Abbott to Veto HB2439. This letter is supported by over 900 signatures and comments from members of the planning, landscape architecture, and architecture fields, along with local elected and appointed officials, developers, business owners, and passionate citizens who want to protect the aesthetics and safety of their city.
This Bill would prohibit cities from applying aesthetic regulations and would prohibit cities from requiring any installations or construction methods other than the minimums in the National Building Code.
June 16th is the last day for Governor Abbott to sign bills into law from Session, but HB 2439 can be signed or vetoed any moment. Bills not signed or vetoed by the Governor become law.
The live petition can be viewed at www.vetoHB2439.com, and you still have an opportunity to sign and voice your concerns.
