2016 AICP Exam Fee Reimbursements

For the November 2016 Exam

The American Institute of Certified Planners and the APA Texas Chapter encourage those with financial hardships to become AICP members by taking advantage of the AICP Exam Fee Reimbursement Program.  This program offers assistance to those individuals who may defer taking or are unable to take the AICP exam because of the high cost.  The APA Texas Chapter has three (3) reimbursements available for Texas planners taking the November 2016 exam.  The November 2016 AICP Exam testing window is November 7-20, 2016.

Reimbursement Amount:  $350

The deadline for applying for the three (3) AICP Exam Fee Reimbursements is MONDAY, AUGUST 8, 2016, for the November 2016 testing window.  Applicants selected to receive the three (3) Texas Chapter Reimbursements will be notified by August 15, 2016.

AICP Exam Fee Reimbursement Selection Criteria

Applicants must be eligible to take the exam.  Applicants must submit a letter explaining the financial hardship (including financial hardship caused by a budget cutback in a firm or agency), which necessitated the request.  The letter should be no more than two (2) pages and need to include the applicant’s APA membership identification number.  Prior to receiving the reimbursement, applicants must provide a copy of their “Authorization to Test” form from Prometrics.

Preference is given to:

  • Members of ethnic or racial minorities;
  • Applicants who otherwise will be unlikely to take the exam without the reimbursement; or
  • Applicants whose employer will not subsidized the exam fee.

Applications must be submitted by midnight, Monday, August 8, 2016 via email to:
