The City of Laredo is hiring a Transportation Planner (Planner III). This position will be part of the Laredo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) which is currently a division of the City of Laredo Planning and Zoning Department.
The Transportation Planner will work on a variety of plans and projects for the MPO, including but not limted to the MTP, TIP, UPWP, Public Participation Plan, Congestion Management Plan, Freight studies, various regional transportation plans, and more.

At least two (2) to four (4) years (depending on education) of progressively responsible experience performing public sector work.
Transportation planning experience in the public or private sector preferred.
- Computer Skills:
Experience with ArcGIS and Adobe Suite preferred.
- Education Required:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Urban Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, Environmental Science, Communications, or related field.
At least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in planning, engineering, development (building or construction), managerial analytics, or related field.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Urban Planning or related field.
At least four (4) of progressively responsible experience in planning, engineering, development (building or construction), managerial analytics, or related field.
