Emergency Preparedness & Recovery Workshop

Emergency Preparedness & Recovery Workshop

Planners4Health team and the Van Zandt County Long Term Recovery Group invite the counties of Northeast Texas to an Emergency Preparedness & Recovery Workshop, on October 26, 2017, from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

The workshop will look at the Planners4Health Disaster Preparedness and Recovery Toolkit, that is specifically designed for rural areas and focuses on the Social Determinants of Health. The workshop offers an opportunity for community members & emergency response personnel to learn how rural counties can better prepare for natural disasters while creating better health outcomes for their communities.

It will be an engaging day-long workshop including personal testimonials, guest speakers from the public health and planning professionals in collaborative workshops, and an open forum for participants to share their learning from the workshop. Take this opportunity to learn how you can help safeguard your county from natural disasters and their aftermath.

There is no cost to participate in the workshop. To register, please e-mail Dr. Melissa Oden at Melissa.Oden@unthsc.edu.
