The NACTO Urban Bikeway Design Guide is the go-to guide for cutting edge on-street bikeway design and provides practitioners with state-of-the-practice solutions for on-street bikeways. The Federal Highway Administration recently expressed support for the Guide and for taking a flexible approach to bicycle and pedestrian facility design. During this half-day workshop, presented by the Congress for the New Urbanism and Alta Planning+ Design, attendees will learn how to tailor the most appropriate treatment for their community from the six sections in the Urban Bikeway Design Guide: bike lanes, cycle tracks, intersection treatments, signals, signs and markings, and bicycle boulevards.
