2019 AICP Exam Fee Reimbursements

For the November 2019 Exam

The American Institute of Certified Planners and the APA Texas Chapter encourage those with financial hardships to become AICP members by taking advantage of the AICP Exam Fee Reimbursement Program. This program offers assistance to those individuals who may defer taking or are unable to take the AICP exam because of the high cost. The November 2019 AICP Exam testing window is November 4-18, 2019.

Reimbursement Amounts:
$350 for Traditional AICP Exam Applicants
$85 for AICP Candidate Pilot Program Participants

Applications will be accepted anytime through MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2019 for the November 2019 testing window.  Applicants selected to receive the reimbursements will be notified within one week of application submission.

Reimbursement Amounts:

$350 for Traditional AICP Exam Applicants

$85 for AICP Candidate Pilot Program Participants

Applicants must be eligible to take the exam.  Applicants must submit a letter explaining the financial hardship (including financial hardship caused by a budget cutback in a firm or agency), which necessitated the request.  The letter should be no more than two (2) pages and need to include the applicant’s APA membership identification number.  Applicants must also verify if they are a traditional AICP Exam applicant or an AICP Candidate Pilot Program participant.

Preference is given to:

  • Applicants who otherwise will be unlikely to take the exam without the reimbursement;
  • Applicants whose employer will not subsidized the exam fee; or
  • Members of ethnic or racial minorities.

Applications will be accepted through midnight, Monday, September 30, 2019 via email to:
