TxEPL Activities at TxAPA State Conference

 

2nd Annual Texas Leadership Forum

Wednesday, October 7th from 3:30-5:30

Plan to arrive early to the Texas APA Chapter Conference to join planning leaders in the second annual Texas Leadership Forum! The forum hosts a series of state and national leaders who speak on their roles in planning and why they became involved with APA. This year, the forum will feature planners that have navigated the career ladder to become leaders in their organization. Attendees will also learn about the importance of mentoring and how the Texas Planning Mentorship Program benefits planners in all career stages.

Attendees have the opportunity to engage with guest speakers and network with other professionals from across the state. 2.0 CM credits are pending for this forum.

 

All Universities and Mentorship Program Reception

Thursday, October 8th from 5:00-6:45

Join current students, alumni, and Texas Planning Mentorship Program participants for a come and go reception. The Mentorship Program was initiated at the 2014 conference and connects planning professionals to gain and share valuable knowledge and insight into their planning careers. Both current mentorship participants and those interested in participating in the 2015-2016 program are welcome to attend. This event is hosted by Texas universities and the Texas Emerging Planning Leaders committee.

 

Intergenerational Plenary Panel

Friday, October 9th from 9:00-10:30

How different are the views of Millennials and Baby Boomers? Gen Xers and the Silent Generation? How will planners of different generations react to issues facing planners today and in the future? Join us for a lively discussion as an intergenerational panel discusses how they would respond to emerging planning issues such as changing demographics, climate change, peak travel, and housing choices. 1.5 CM credits pending
