Congratulations to the newly selected members of the 2016 Class of AICP Fellows.  The new Fellows ofAICP were selected by a Fellows Selection Committee appointed by the AICP Commission.   The 2016 Class of Fellows include four (4) who were nominated by the APA Texas Chapter and one (1) nominated by an APA division. The new Texas AICPFellows from the Texas Chapter include Patti Knudson Joiner, AICPJ. Rebecca Leonard, AICP; John Littelleir, AICPNina Nixon-Méndez, AICP; and Scott Polikov, AICP, JD.    The new Class of Fellows will be inducted as members of theAICP College of Fellows at a formal ceremony on Sunday, April 3, at the APA National Planning Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.  The new Texas Fellows of AICP will also be honored guests at the APA Texas Chapter Reception on Monday, April 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Majerles Sports Grill in downtown Phoenix.
 
Fellows of AICP are honored in recognition of the achievements of the planner as an individual, elevating the Fellow before the public and the profession as a model planner who has made significant contributions to planning and society. Fellowship is granted to planners who have been members of AICPfor 15 years or longer, and selected for having achieved excellence in professional practice, teaching and mentoring, research, public and community service, and leadership. Those chosen become members of the College of Fellows.  The College of Fellows is concerned with mentoring and future advancement of the profession of planning.
