    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
    • Assist the Right of Way Manager on all Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan projects and activities, including:
      • Community education and outreach projects, such as planning for and participating in Bike to Work/School Day
      • Updating the City's Bicycle Route Map
      • Research, draft and recommend policies related to pedestrian and bicycle projects
      • Identifying projects to be included in the City's Capital Improvement Program
      • Assist with reviewing plans and construction activities for accuracy and compliance with the City's Design Standards and Pedestrian & Bicycle Master Plan
      • Assist with updates to the Pedestrian & Bicycle Master Plan
    • Assist the Right of Way Manager on all projects and activities related to implementing the City's Streetscape Policy, including:
      • Research, draft and recommend policies related to streetscape development projects
      • Identifying projects to be included in the City's Capital Improvement Program
      • Assist with reviewing plans and construction activities for accuracy and compliance with the City's Streetscape Policy
      • Assist with updates to the City's Streetscape Policy
    • Assist with entering and responding to service requests from residents
    • Assist with entering and responding to street light requests
    • Assist with entering and responding to tree related items
    • Assist with developing accurate and thorough project charters in coordination with the Engineering Department.
    • Guide consultants to develop plans based on guiding principles, public input, master plans and scope of work as identified in the project charter.
    • Prepare agenda requests and presentations for City Council, Planning & Zoning Commission, PARCS Advisory Board, SL4A, and SL4B.
    • Attend public meetings and make presentations to City Council, Planning & Zoning Commission, PARCS Advisory Board, SL4A, and SL4B.
    • Prepare and make presentations on various projects to citizens and stakeholder groups.
    • Prepare maps and graphic presentations using GIS, AutoCAD and Photoshop.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Public Works management staff.

Jobs Requirements

  • Experience:

    •Two years of experience analyzing data and conducting research is required.
    •Additional relevant work experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above knowledge, skills and education requirements may be substituted in lieu of specific education requirements.
    •Texas Driver's License.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Municipal experience is preferred.

  • Education Required:

    •Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning, Public Administration, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Forestry or an other related field required.
