We all have places in Texas dear to our heart. That’s why the Texas Chapter is excited to announce our own rendition of the American Planning Association's Great Places in America program, the Gold Standard in America’s Neighborhoods, Streets, and Public Spaces. Great Places in Texas will recognize the Lone Star’s Great Places – neighborhoods, streets, and public spaces – and celebrate how planning has played a vital role where we live, work, and play. The Texas program will promote and recognize great places while celebrating stories of exemplary planning that have resulted in stronger and healthier communities.

The Texas Chapter has issued a call for places for the inaugural Great Places in Texas class! Applications are due January 31, 2017. Please review the GPIT application for more information. Applications are not limited to APA members.
