The Assistant Director will plan, budget, supervise, evaluate, coordinate, direct, and control the activities of the Development Services Division. This position focuses on coordination of internal operations and requires the ability to work in a team environment and skills of building consensus, negotiating, mediating and resolving issues are required. Prepare and provide professional recommendations and technical services to the City Council and related Boards and Commissions, the City Manager and other City Divisions, and the public. Perform special projects and related work. Must have the ability to work in a fast growth, fast-paced environment and will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering, Public Administration, or related field and seven years experience in municipal government, five of which in a supervisory position; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.  A Masters Degree in Planning, Engineering, Public Administration, or related  field preferred.
