The City of Austin, (pop. 750,000), a world-class city located in the Texas Hill Country and is seeking a dynamic, economic development professional to lead the Economic Growth and Redevelopment Services Office.  The Director is appointed by the Austin City Manager.   Director will lead a department of 44 talented professionals assigned to three primary functions: Economic Development and Redevelopment, Cultural Arts Programs, and Small Business Development.  The Director will work with the economic development community including the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce in attracting business to Austin.  A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is strongly desired along with seven years of increasingly responsible economic development leadership experience.  Starting salary is $140 -150,000 with excellent fringe benefits/pension package.  Apply by August 1, 2009 to Heidi J. Duties:  Works under the general direction of the Assistant City Manager in the administration of the City’s comprehensive zoning and development plan. The City of Lago Vista is seeking a GIS technician to provide geographic information system (GIS) and city web page support for all departments in the city.  The position would be responsible for developing the city’s first GIS system and will be the city’s webmaster.
